 TWC Protests

Protest Resource Links

Protest Resources

While we patiently wait for FiOS to come to this market, we can also continue to protest caps in general, and caps at Time Warner specifically.  Though bringing Verizon to Rochester and having competition is the best long-term strategy, Time Warner Cable plans to implement their caps in September, long before Verizon could possibly deploy fiber.

There are many resources dedicated to protesting and/or stopping the tiered bandwidth pricing.  I've listed some links in the right sidebar, and encourage you to make your voice heard through these links.  I'd especially encourage you to GET THE WORD OUT.  Your average everyday user probably isn't aware of how much this may affect them.  Just as most people have no clue about how much a trillion dollars is, most wouldn't know 40GB of bandwidth from 5TB.  So, use your collective power - contact blogs, news media, LinkedIn groups, Facebook and more.  Be sure to include people from outside our area, because they will be next.  If TWC succeeds in bulling tiered pricing through this market, they'll surely go for larger cities as well.Recently Time Warner employee @JeffTWC blocked my Twitter account because I was "sending him too many tweets."  What he meant to say was I was sending too many tweets raising issues he couldn't answer.  So he just blocked me.  Never mind that I can see his tweets in his public stream by just searching for JeffTWC (Without the @).  I encourage you ALL to add Twitter accounts to your FOLLOW list so you can track just what Time Warner Cable is doing, and be sure to include them when you express your opinion on their recent money grab proposal.  On the left you will find links to all their Twitter profiles.
